This is an illustrative sample specification, not a completed client project. It shows how our team would approach a scheme like this, using pieces we sell today.
A period London townhouse is a common trade brief: tall ceilings, original cornicing, and a client who wants comfortable, considered rooms rather than a showroom. Here is how we would specify the principal living, dining and bedroom floors with Araco Atelier, CTO Lighting, Araco Lumière and Tommy Franks.
The living room: one sofa, two chairs, three layers of light
Seating. An Araco Atelier Ollie 3 Seater Sofa in Wicker anchors the room: warm sand bouclé sits easily with oak floors and off-white walls. A pair of Otis armchairs in the same colourway faces it across a low table, so the seating reads as one family. Araco Atelier is made to order in approximately 8–12 weeks, in six colourways — request samples before you commit.
Lighting. We would build three layers:
- Ambient: a CTO Lighting Avalon Chandelier from the ceiling rose — a ring of honed alabaster in brass or bronze, sized to the room.
- Mid-level: a pair of natural alabaster wall lights either side of the chimney breast, such as the Araco Lumière Frozen Halo.
- Accent: a Radiant Marlowe selenite pendant in an alcove, for a decorative focal point.
The dining room: Tommy Franks and a linear pendant
A Tommy Franks dining table with upholstered dining chairs gives the room its structure; in-stock Tommy Franks pieces are delivered in 3–5 working days, with 10% off RRP already applied. Over a long table, a CTO Artes Pendant or Trace Linear Chandelier spreads light evenly along its length. For a round table, an Araco Lumière Frozen Eclipse alabaster chandelier works well.
The principal bedroom
Choose an upholstered bed with a generous headboard, then free up the bedside tables by mounting natural alabaster wall lights either side — the Frozen Aura or Frozen Halo give a soft reading glow. A Teddy armchair in a window bay completes the room.
Planning the programme
- Order the long-lead items first: Araco Atelier (approximately 8–12 weeks), Araco Lumière (approximately 6–8 weeks) and CTO Lighting (made to order; lead time shown on each product page and confirmed after you order).
- In-stock furniture last: Tommy Franks in-stock pieces arrive in 3–5 working days.
- Installation: all lighting should be installed by a qualified electrician. Confirm ceiling heights, drop lengths and DALI requirements before ordering.
- Delivery: free UK delivery with no minimum spend, and two-person delivery for large furniture.
