A five-storey Kensington townhouse renovation presented the kind of brief that defines what Araco Interiors exists to serve: a client with precise taste, an experienced interior designer with exacting standards, and a project timeline that demanded suppliers who could be relied upon completely.
The brief called for luxury upholstered seating throughout the principal living floors, a curated lighting scheme that would work both functionally and decoratively, and a cohesive material palette running from the entrance hall to the rooftop terrace.
The Living Room: Araco Atelier Sofas and CTO Lighting
The principal living room — a generous double-fronted space with 3.2m ceilings and original cornicing — required seating that could anchor the room without competing with its architecture. The interior designer specified the Araco Atelier corner sofa configuration in Wicker bouclé: a warm, neutral choice that worked with the room's oak flooring and off-white walls without introducing an unnecessary contrast.
Lighting was designed in three layers. A CTO Lighting Avalon Medium chandelier — with its cascading alabaster ring in antique bronze — was suspended from the original rose as the ambient centrepiece. Two pairs of CTO Hepworth wall lights, one either side of the chimney breast, added mid-level warmth. And a pair of Araco Lumière Marlowe selenite pendants were placed in the alcoves as decorative accent pieces.
The Dining Room: Tommy Franks and CTO Artes
The dining room connected directly to the kitchen through generous double doors. The client had specified a Tommy Franks dining table — its sculptural marble-and-brass construction exactly right for the room's proportions — with upholstered dining chairs from the Tommy Franks range in a deep velvet.
Above the table, the CTO Artes 1200 linear pendant in antique bronze ran the full length of the table, providing even task light across the dining surface while reading as a considered architectural element in its own right.
The Principal Bedroom: Araco Atelier Beds and Araco Lumière
The principal bedroom brief was clear: a genuine sanctuary. The Araco Atelier upholstered bed in Mistral bouclé — a muted grey-blue — sat against a panel wall, its generously proportioned headboard creating an immediate focal point on entering the room. Araco Lumière Halo alabaster wall lights flanked the headboard, mounted at the correct reading height of 125cm from the finished floor level.
Delivery and Project Management
The project required phased delivery over three weeks, coordinated with the main contractor. Our trade team managed the scheduling, confirmed access times with the site manager, and arranged white-glove delivery for all upholstered pieces. Every piece arrived in perfect condition and was placed in the correct room for the client's final inspection.
