Size and Scale
The most common mistake with pendant lights is choosing a fitting that is too small for the space. As a starting point: pendant diameter in centimetres should be roughly one-third of the table or island width below it. For a 150cm dining table, a 50cm pendant or a tight cluster of smaller pendants works well. For a double-height space, a pendant 60cm or larger in diameter will hold the space visually.
Ceiling height affects drop length significantly — allow a minimum of 200cm of clearance between the bottom of the pendant and the floor in a circulation space, and 75–80cm between the bottom of the pendant and a dining table surface.
