Sizing and space
- UK bed sizes — Double 135 × 190cm, King 150 × 200cm, Super King 180 × 200cm. Upholstered frames add roughly 10–15cm to each dimension beyond the mattress, so check the external frame size rather than the mattress size.
- Walking space — allow at least 60cm either side and 70cm at the foot for a room to work comfortably.
- Headboard height — taller headboards suit high ceilings and make a strong focal point; in rooms under 2.4m they can overwhelm.
Choosing upholstery
Bouclé gives a headboard real texture and presence, and is the most photographed finish for a reason. Velvet is richer and more formal, and hides marks well. Linen reads relaxed and softer.
A headboard is one of the few upholstered surfaces people lean against nightly with hair products and skin contact, so a removable or cleanable finish is worth asking about on a principal bed.

What size is a UK king bed?
150 × 200cm for the mattress. An upholstered frame typically adds 10–15cm to each dimension, so check the external frame measurement before ordering.
Do beds come with a mattress?
No. Frames and headboards are supplied without a mattress unless stated on the product page.
Is the bed assembled on delivery?
Large furniture is delivered by a two-person team with room-of-choice positioning, unpacking and packaging removal. Assembly requirements vary by design — check the product page or contact us.
Can I get fabric samples first?
Yes, across all 10 Araco Atelier colourways. Made-to-order frames cannot be returned once production starts, so samples are worth requesting.
How long do beds take to arrive?
Araco Atelier frames are made to order at approximately 8–12 weeks. In-stock Tommy Franks pieces are delivered within 3 working days.

Most in-stock Tommy Franks pieces are delivered within 3–5 working days. Lladró arrives in approximately 2 weeks. CTO Lighting is handcrafted to order, at approximately 5 to 7 weeks. Can I return an item?
Eligible items can be returned within 30 days in original condition and packaging, with free returns and no restocking fee. Made-to-order pieces cannot be returned once production has started. Full returns policy.
