How to choose designer lighting

Start with the role the light needs to play. A statement pendant over a dining table or kitchen island sets the tone for the whole room, so scale matters more than anything — as a rule, allow roughly one third of the table width and hang the base 75 to 90cm above the surface.

Wall lights and sconces work in pairs and are best positioned at eye level, roughly 1.5 to 1.6m from the floor. Alabaster is the material of choice for luxury lighting because it is genuinely translucent: light passes through the stone rather than bouncing off it, producing a warmth that no manufactured diffuser reproduces. Every piece of alabaster is unique, so expect natural variation in veining.

For bathrooms, check the IP rating. Zone 2 and Zone 3 require IP44 as a minimum. If your scheme uses DALI or a central dimming system, confirm compatibility before ordering — several CTO Lighting pieces are available in DALI-A and DALI-B variants.

Is this range suitable for trade and project use?

What is the delivery timeframe?

Most in-stock Tommy Franks pieces are delivered within 3 working days. Lladró arrives in approximately 2 weeks. CTO Lighting and Araco Lumière are handcrafted to order, at approximately 5 to 7 weeks. Araco Atelier furniture is made to order at approximately 8 to 12 weeks. Full delivery information.

Can I return an item?

Eligible items can be returned within 30 days in original condition and packaging, with free returns and no restocking fee. Made-to-order pieces cannot be returned once production has started. Full returns policy.

Are these pieces suitable for bathrooms?

Selected wall lights are available in IP44-rated versions suitable for Bathroom Zone 2 and Zone 3. Check the individual product page or email sales@aracointeriors.com to confirm.

Is the alabaster genuine natural stone?

Yes. Every alabaster piece we sell uses genuine honed natural alabaster. Because it is a natural stone, veining and translucency vary from piece to piece — this variation is intrinsic to the material.
